Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria Releases Statement on Passing of SB 1 and SB 2 of the First Extraordinary Session

SACRAMENTO, CA — Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria (D-Merced) issued the following statement on the passing of SB 1 and SB 2 of the first extraordinary session: 

"Today, my colleagues and I passed bills to uphold California’s values, while providing resources to protect our hardworking immigrant communities. I’m proud to stand up AGAINST federal actions that threaten California’s wellbeing, and I’m proud to stand up FOR our neighbors, our friends and our community members," said Soria. "These are farmworkers, and they are key contributors fueling our agricultural economy. This is personal to me - I am a proud daughter of hardworking immigrant farmworkers. I will continue to speak up and fight for California values in order to protect our most vulnerable communities.”
