AB 1350 approved by the Legislature, now heads to the Governor

For immediate release:

SACRAMENTO – AB 1350 was unanimously passed on the Assembly floor today, September 13th, and now moves to the Governor’s desk for signature.

AB 1350, the Capitol Park Veterans Memorial Fund, establishes a fund, administered by CalVet, for the purpose of maintenance and rehabilitation of veteran’s memorials in the State Capitol. Capitol Park is home to several veteran’s memorials, which unfortunately face periodical vandalism. Due to the current lack of statutory responsibility, this bill establishes the Capitol Park Veterans Memorial Fund, for the receipt of private donations for the maintenance and rehabilitation of these memorials. The fund may also receive state funds.

“We must never forget the sacrifices of our brave American veterans,” said Assemblywoman Soria. “This bill authorizes CalVet to provide support for memorials that have little to no existing support.”
