SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Soria is thrilled to recognize Madera Unified’s MadTown Robotics 1323 Team on the Assembly floor on Monday, June 5th.

This stellar robotics team, of Assembly District 27, was declared winner of the 2023 FIRST Championship in April, where they competed against over 600 teams from across the world. The team went into this competition already ranked at #1 after winning the Central Valley Regional, and going undefeated at the Monterey Bay Regional of the FIRST Robotic Competition. In Houston, at the final international competition, the team earned the Industrial Design Award alongside the world championship title.

Assemblywoman Soria wishes to not only recognize the incredible Central Valley students apart of the robotics team from Torres High School, Madera High School, and Sherman Thomas Charter School, but also their parents, teachers, and mentors. This win is a huge feat and has demonstrated their expertise in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The MadTown Robotics 1323 Team will be showcasing their amazing robot in the Capitol Room 127 on Monday.
