Are you a high school student in Assembly District 27 who is interested in the legislature?
Assemblywoman Esmeralda Soria is seeking students to join the 2025 Young Legislators Program in Assembly District 27. This free, 6-month program will offer participants the opportunity to learn about the legislative process and advance their advocacy skills in order to cultivate the next generation of Central Valley leaders.
Program Details
- 15-20 students will be selected
- Program will run during the Spring 2025 semester
- Participants will be required to meet one Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. (participants must attend at least 80% of meetings)
- Participants will be required to volunteer at a minimum of 2 community meetings/events hosted by Assemblywoman Soria
- Participants will learn about state government and the most pressing issues affecting Assembly District 27
- At the completion of the program, participants will travel to Sacramento to receive a certificate of completion
- Participants will receive an educational scholarship upon completion
- Travel stipend available on a first-come, first-serve basis

Application Process and Requirements
- Applicants must be 16-18 years of age and attending a high school within Assembly District 27 for the 2024-25 academic year
