Assemblywoman Soria Issues Statement on ABx2-1

SACRAMENTO, CA – Today, Esmeralda Soria (D-Merced) issued the following statement after voting NO on ABx2-1.

“As a daughter of farm workers and lifelong resident of the Central Valley, I know first-hand the everyday struggles constituents of AD 27 face.” said Assemblywoman Soria. “I know what it’s like to stretch a dollar to make ends meet.  At a time when the cost of basic necessities is so high and working folks are already struggling to pay bills or put food on the table we cannot take a risk on new regulations that could result in higher gas prices. That’s why today I voted NO on ABx2-1. The bill’s new regulations are unproven, risky, and could ultimately hurt the communities that can least afford it.”
