Assembly District 27 is home to many talented artists. From city to city in our District, local artists must know that we appreciate their work and talent. The Valley is full of rich and diverse cultures and we would love to see it captured in art.
Assemblywoman Soria would like to highlight your art here at home and up in the State Capitol! Each quarter, we will select art to be displayed in our District Office in Merced for the first half of the quarter. At the half way mark, we will then showcase your art in our Capitol Office in Sacramento!
Please read the following guidelines to ensure we can accept your submission:
All artwork must be original (no copies or reproductions). We are only accepting flat art, no sculptures. Artwork must not be student/class work or previously showcased in a gallery before. Canvases without frames must have gallery wrapped edges (no staples showing) and edges be painted. Artwork using wet media must be submitted dry. All artwork should be ready to hang. It must have a secure wire (coated wire preferred) and frame must be in good condition with no scratches or loose corners unless it relates to the content of the artwork or is the style of the frame (such as "distressed" or "rustic" frames); please no saw-tooth hangers, quick frames, or screw eyes. Buyers and artists are responsible for arranging shipping for sold works. Fragile or unmanageable works will not be accepted unless arrangements have been made with the staff.
All items must have the following information attached/affixed to the back or bottom: Name of Artist, Title of Piece & Contact Information.
Submissions are due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024. Open to all who live in the 27th Assembly District.
Save the Date: Selected artists will be notified and must be able to transport artwork within five days of notification.
