SACRAMENTO –Assemblymember Ash Kalra (D-San Jose) received a COVID-19 booster shot this morning at the San Jose Neighborhood Clinic.
“This morning, my father received a COVID-19 booster shot as an eligible recipient as did I as his primary caretaker. These booster shots are critically important at extending immunity against COVID-19 and will help protect our most vulnerable. I urge all eligible Californians to make their appointments today,” said Assemblymember Ash Kalra. “With the holidays and flu season approaching, vaccines remain a safe and effective way to help us better protect our loved ones and our community against this devastating virus.”
“At School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County, providing vaccines to our patients is one of the most important things we can do for our community. From pertussis to polio and now COVID-19, vaccinations will not only help protect kids; but the family they live with, the teachers that instruct them, the grandparents who visit them, and the most vulnerable around them,” said Stephanie Kleinheinz, Chief Executive Officer of School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County. “For us, it’s about protecting everyone and getting back to normal as soon as possible. We thank Assemblymember Ash Kalra and his family for visiting our clinics and demonstrating just how important getting vaccinated is.”
Assemblymember Ash Kalra was first elected to the California Legislature in 2016, representing the 27th District, which encompasses approximately half of San Jose and includes all of downtown. In 2020, he was re-elected to his third term. Assemblymember Kalra is the Chair of the State Assembly Labor and Employment Committee and also currently serves as a member on the Housing and Community Development, Judiciary, Transportation, and Water, Parks, and Wildlife committees.
